Morgan County Jail Roster Overview
Morgan County does not run a long-term jail with its own public roster. The Utah Department of Corrections Jail Programs 2024 report lists Morgan County with zero jail beds and says jail-time offenders are transported to Weber County or Davis County Jail. For the researched primary route, Weber County Correctional Facility is the practical online lookup point because a 2023-2033 interlocal agreement lets Weber accept custodial management of Morgan inmates.
The Weber County current inmate roster is therefore the first web search for many Morgan County inmate records. It is not a Morgan-only roster. Weber also books people for Weber agencies and other counties, and the facility population can include state inmates, U.S. Marshal inmates, ICE detainees, probation or parole violators, and alcohol-diversion inmates. A Morgan search must be paired with name, booking date, and phone confirmation when the online result is uncertain.
Morgan County inmate records can also split between agencies. Morgan deputies may create the arrest, incident, transport, or local law-enforcement record. Weber may create the booking profile, inmate record, classification records, phone recording, mugshot copy, and jail-service records after the person is accepted into Weber custody. That split is the reason a public-records request may need to go to both offices when a reader needs more than a current roster check.
Search Morgan County Jail Records
Start with the Weber roster for current custody. Morgan County's own sheriff page is still important for local arrest, transport, dispatch, and Morgan-held records. If the person was just arrested, the roster may lag the actual custody event. If the person was sentenced to state prison, the Weber roster is no longer the right lookup tool.
- Open Weber County's current inmate roster and read the terms and scam notice.
- Search by last name first, then add first name if the result list is broad.
- Compare the booking date, gender, age, and spelling before relying on a match.
- Open Details to review public profile fields, charges, and bail or fine lines.
- Call Morgan Sheriff at 801-829-0590 for local arrest or transport questions.
- Call Weber jail at 801-778-6700 when the person may already be booked at Weber.
Weber warns that scammers call inmate families, claim a loved one is jailed, and ask for bail through payment platforms. The official warning says Weber will not call family members to say bail can be posted and does not accept Venmo, PayPal, Bitcoin, or similar platforms.
Morgan County Roster Search Fields
The roster search is simple, which makes careful matching more important. The result rows show booking date and basic identity fields. The Details link opens the individual public profile.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Unspecified | Use a full or partial last name. |
| First Name | Text | Unspecified | Helps narrow common-name searches. |
| Details | Link per result | Not applicable | Opens the inmate detail page. |
| Terms of Use | Notice or modal | Not applicable | Read before relying on the roster. |
The official Weber County roster page shows the search fields and result list used for many Morgan County custody checks.
The screenshot also shows why the roster should be treated as a current-custody tool rather than a full Morgan County criminal-history database.
Morgan County Inmate Profile Fields
A Weber roster detail profile gives a public custody snapshot. The inspected sample listed identifying details, charge labels, and bail or fine information. It did not show a court date, housing unit, projected release date, arresting agency, full date of birth, address, full court history, or medical/mental-health information. A roster charge is an intake label, not proof of conviction.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Roster name, commonly displayed last name first. |
| Case Number | A label may appear, though the inspected sample did not show a visible number. |
| Booking Date | Date of booking into Weber custody. |
| Age and Gender | Basic public demographic fields. |
| Height, Weight, Hair, Eyes | Physical descriptor fields. |
| Charges - State Statute | Plain-language charge descriptions from booking or custody records. |
| Type - Bail Fine | Bail or fine type, including cash or no-bail shorthand examples. |
| Remaining Due | Amount still shown under the public bail or fine line. |
New Morgan County Arrests
A new arrest may be real even when no roster result appears. Morgan County has local law-enforcement and court functions at 48 W Young St, but long-term jail housing is outside the county. A person can be in short-term handling, on the way to Weber or Davis, in booking, in R&O, or released before a public roster search produces a useful result. Weber says classification happens within 72 hours, and R&O can restrict visits and commissary before classification is complete.
Note: A missing Weber roster result does not prove the person is free or was never arrested.
For same-day uncertainty, use the phone chain. Morgan Sheriff can answer local arrest or transport questions. Weber jail can answer custody questions after transfer. If Morgan staff say Davis County is the housing facility, follow Davis County's official jail channels because the Morgan research did not include a separate Davis source pass.
Weber intake rules also explain short delays in visits and services. Booking staff handle fingerprints, photos, state-required DNA testing when applicable, bail and fee collection, and pretrial release program work for the courts. Classification officers review prior jail records, Utah State Prison records, Bureau of Criminal Identification information, juvenile records, behavior, charges, and medical or mental-health needs. Until that review is complete, a person may be harder to reach even though custody has begun.

Morgan County GRAMA Inmate Records
Use a records request when the public roster is not enough or the person is no longer listed. Morgan County publishes a GRAMA request form through its forms page, and the research found that forms can be emailed to submit@morgancountyutah.gov. The form asks for the office holding the record, a specific description, inspect-or-copy choice, requester contact information, cost authorization, fee-waiver grounds, and an expedited-response option when allowed.
Weber Sheriff's records process is the better route for Weber-created jail records. Weber's records page says requests may be submitted online through NextRequest or in person at the Weber County Sheriff's Office. It asks for name, address, daytime phone, a reasonably specific record description, and valid government photo ID. Weber says most sheriff records are private, protected, or controlled under GRAMA and must be reviewed.
| Record Needed | Likely Starting Office | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest or incident report | Morgan County Sheriff's Office | Morgan may hold the local law-enforcement report. |
| Booking report or inmate file | Weber Sheriff's records | Weber creates jail records for inmates housed there. |
| Mugshot copy | Weber Sheriff's records | Weber lists mug shots as a requestable fee category. |
| Filed criminal charges | Utah Courts or Morgan court clerk | The court record controls formal charges and disposition. |
Morgan County Jail Visitation Records
Visitation for Morgan County inmates housed at Weber follows Weber's rules. Inmates must be classified before visits. Visits are by video monitor, and appointments must be scheduled at least one day in advance through the jail lobby or Securus. Visit availability depends on classification, and R&O inmates may make collect phone calls but cannot receive visits or make commissary purchases.
| Day | Lobby Hours | Public Visitation Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 7 AM-9 PM | 1 PM-9 PM |
| Tuesday | 7 AM-9 PM | 1 PM-9 PM |
| Wednesday | 7 AM-5 PM | No public visits |
| Thursday | 7 AM-9 PM | 1 PM-9 PM |
| Friday | 7 AM-9 PM | 1 PM-9 PM |
| Saturday | 10 AM-8 PM | 10 AM-8 PM |
| Sunday | Closed | Closed |
The Weber visitation page documents video visits, appointment timing, lobby hours, and clergy visit rules.

Morgan County Records vs DOC Lookup
Use the right locator for the custody type. The jail roster is for local jail custody. UDC is for sentenced prisoners and people under state corrections supervision. Federal and immigration systems do not work like a county roster.
| Lookup Channel | Covers | Important Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Weber current inmate roster | People currently in Weber custody | Not a Morgan-only roster |
| UDC Offender Search | State prison and UDC supervision | Excludes county pretrial and unsentenced detainees |
| VINELink Utah | Custody status and victim notification | Dynamic search tool, not a full court file |
| BOP inmate locator | Federal inmates from 1982 to present | May not show federal pretrial detainees in local contract custody |
| ICE ODLS | ICE custody or CBP custody longer than 48 hours | Requires A-number/country or name/country/date of birth path |
Morgan County Jail Record Terms
Roster and court language can be easy to misread. A booking charge is not a conviction. A hold or detainer can block release even when one charge shows a bail amount. Classification is the jail's risk and needs review for housing and privileges. R&O means Reception and Orientation, Weber's early stage before classification.
- Booking
- Administrative intake after arrest, including identity, photos, fingerprints, charges, property, and jail processing.
- Classification
- Jail review of risk, history, charges, behavior, and needs before housing decisions.
- O.R. release
- Own-recognizance release approved by court without posting bail.
- Detainer
- A hold or request from another agency, such as ICE, U.S. Marshals, probation, parole, or another county.
- GRAMA
- Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, the state public-records request law.
Morgan County Inmate Services
Official Weber pages reviewed did not publish a detailed commissary vendor or money-deposit fee schedule for jail inmates. Do not send funds, mail, publications, or packages until custody and housing are confirmed by the destination jail. For Morgan County inmates at Weber, call 801-778-6700 before using any vendor or mailing format. For state prisoners, UDC uses different visitation, phone, and deposit rules, including Access Corrections and ConnectNetwork/GTL resources described on UDC pages.
For booking photos, use the mugshot request route rather than assuming every profile has a visible image. For filed charges after booking, use Utah Courts Xchange or the local court clerk. A custody record, a mugshot, a warrant, and a court case may all be tied to the same arrest, but they are held in different systems.
Victim notification is a separate service. Utah VINELink can help track custody-status changes and notifications, but it does not replace the official jail roster, GRAMA request, or court record. For federal custody, the BOP locator covers sentenced federal inmates from 1982 to present. ICE ODLS can locate people in ICE custody or CBP custody longer than 48 hours, but it is not a county mugshot or court-charge database.
When systems conflict, confirm with the office holding custody or the court that filed the case.
